What is Guild Manager?

Guild Manager is a web application which helps track guild related information. The site is setup to help ease the tedious process of collecting and analyzing guild data by officers and members.

Why should my guild use Guild Manager?

There main reason would be ease of use. We have taken all of the grunt work out of guild raid data tracking and given officers/leaders the freedom to do more important things such as play and have more fun. Guild Manager also offers a easy to access system to all of your guild members so that they know exactly where they stand.

What system does Guild Manager use?

Guild Manager is unique in that it blends systems to create a new system which eliminates much of the problems of systems most guilds currently use. Guild Manager uses RTA (Real Time Attendance) tracking along with LIV (Looted Item Values) to give officers a completely unbiased view of members and their ranking in the loot line. But the GuildManager site is flexiable enough to implement many diffrent types of systems.

Why is Guild Manager better then DKP?

There are many types of DKP out there and very few if any are not flawed. Guild Manager is different in that it gives credit to the player for every 1 minute they are in the raid. While other systems such as DKP only give credit for a kill. This encourages players to attend things such as farming runs, but discourages players to attend new content. The only true way to reward players is based on time they have invested while raiding. Guild Manager then uses LIV (Looted Item Values) which can be setup to your guilds custom level, or use the default values. Every item looted has a default value, and can have a custom value. These values are then used to create HPLV (Hours per Looted Value). This value basically tells in one quick view how many hours that player has raided to acquire one point of loot value. The number can be tweaked based on the guilds preference to take into account any certain number of days.

What is Player Attendance?

Player attendance is a quick view of players and their attendance raiding. A players time spent in the raids vs. the time the guild has raided is use to calculate the players attendance. If a player leaves a raid 1 hour early then that player attendance will be hurt for that time frame. There are many options for player attendance such as required, non required raids and much more.

What is Player Compare?

Player Compare makes loot decisions a snap. When an item drops simply ask who wants the item and then go to the Player Compare page, select those players who asked and the system will return in order those most deserving of the item to least deserving. The player compare also gives a summary of those players selected by including raided hours and received items. Most guilds setup a threshold so that players under a certain percentage of attendance cannot receive loot unless they are the only person asking for it.

How do people access my guild site?

There are several ways to access your guild site. People may access your site by Anon access or by logging in. Anon access is only available if allow anon is checked under guild setup and the page has the proper security setting. Generally most guilds will setup user accounts for those officers/members who they want to have editing/import authority. The rest of the guild would access the site via anon access to view data. All pages security can be custom set to the way your guild likes it.

How do I import my data?

Data import can happen one of two. One way is to use the web importer. The web importer is limited to the last 25 raids to be imported. The best way to import data is to use the windows importer. This can be downloaded and installed on any windows XP/2000 machine. The windows importer is faster and allows an unlimited number of raids to be imported.

How do I import my DKP data?

Since there isnt one real system out there, there is not any easy to import your guild data. However we are willing to work with all guilds to get any old data imported. If you sign up for 1 year we will provide importing service of your old data. Simply give use a data dump of your old data and we will do our best to get it imported. Please note we cant promise that we will get every detail but we will do our best.

What UI mod does Guild Manager use?

Guild Manager was designed to be flexible in what mods it would import. We mainly did this so that if any new mods appeared we could easily adapt. Visit our forums for more details on what mods we are currently supproting.

Can I direct link to my guild in Guild Manager?

Yes, as long as your security settings allow you can direct link using http://www.guildmanager.com/?gID=YourGuildID;

Why is Guild Manager slow?

Slow response time, especially on pages which show grids, could be that you are using Internet Explorer (IE). Guild Manager is coded in heavy java script and IE does a poor job in managing this. We recommend using Mozilla FireFox which has been thoroughly tested with out site.
